Beautiful Sunday – Visit to the Castle San Carlos de Borromeo (Margarita Island)

Hello friends, today I will share with you a visit to the Castle San Carlos de Borromeo:

Castle San Carlos de Borromeo

Nueva Esparta, particularly the island of Margarita, contains a great historical legacy that ranges from the colonial times to the independence struggles of Venezuela, two castles and three forts. The two castles were built by Spanish settlers to defend themselves from pirate attacks that lurked the island due to the abundance of pearls.

The Castle of San Carlos de Borromeo is one of the most visited, since it is located in the center of the city of Pampatar. From there you can appreciate the immensity of the sea and the sky of Margarita. It exhibits the objects and architecture of the time, as well as enjoying the beautiful panoramic view that surrounds it.
