The weather outside today here in Missouri is cold and rainy, but it made for the perfect day to carve some pumpkins inside and to eat some yummy homemade chili! @kayla.denise and @johnbutler invited our family over for a nice Sunday afternoon get-together :)
I'm sure I'm not the first to carve the Steemit logo onto a pumpkin, but it sure was fun! I'm not very crafty or steady with my hands, but I did the best that I could ;)
From left to right: My Steemit pumpkin, then our 7 year-old daughter, Annabel's, and then our 11-year old, Maci's, pumpkins.
We had a book full of patterns, but Annabel was very persistent about carving her own design and I think she did a pretty great job! I may be partial, but I think her pumpkin is super adorable, just like her ;)
Maci carved this cute little owl design out of the pattern book, and it turned out so cute! Especially considering that we were using some really cheap pumpkin carving "tools". Next year, I think we will search for a better method.
We normally put our jack-o-lanterns outside, but since it's raining like crazy, we decided to put them on our fireplace tonight so they might last a little longer.
Autumn is a really beautiful and fun time here in Missouri, so we love to make the best of the season!
Thanks for checking it out!
