Hi there!
This is my entry for the #BeautifulSunday challenge, initiated by @ace108.
I'm also posting today inspired by #SublimeSunday, a tag from @c0ff33a!
Thanks, my friends!
Spending time with my daughter who came to visit me, with her best friend, in East Timor is getting better and better.
This weekend we headed to the island opposite Díli, called Ataúro. I've told you about this island a couple of times, and showed you some photos of it, taken from Díli.
But today I'm showing you the island from inside, namely the beautiful place where we've stayed. It's called after its Australian owner who decided to build it and stay in this beautiful paradise from around 10 years ago. Barry's. You can see its location on the @steemitworldmap (see it in the comments)!
It's an eco-resort, as the island has no water resources: the water is a precious commodity, as well as the power. As there is no tap water, we bath ourselves the way you can see my daughter is doing in the first shot. And feels great, just believe me! Power comes from small photovoltaic plaques on the roofs of each cabin.
This is the cabin we've stayed at, called Maulaku. All the cabins are named after an area's name of the island. It is simple but neat and beautiful, as all the whole place is. All we need it's there, from mosquitoes nets to a small pharmacy, just in case we needed it.
The cabins, like all the infrastructures, are built with local natural materials, such as palm leaves and bamboo.
And the sea right in front of it.
Oh, and I forgot to bring my phone, and my daughter's ran out of battery, so we spend the weekend with no Internet, which was a bliss, as we ended up enjoying the place even more!
The following photos show some washroom details and the restaurant. The food is local and fresh... and delicious! All ingredients are organic and cooked the Timorese way... stews, stir-fried, boiled and grilled... Oh, the fish was just perfect!
This are us chilling out at the porch, and my daughter took this pic while I was editing some photos, so we can remember this wonderful retreat later :))).
The eco-resort is pet-friendly and has a corner specially dedicated to them. I didn't bring my Luna, as you all know by now she's a bit wild, and I was afraid she would run away and get lost.
"Love Peace" is the name of the green boat. And this translates our mood. And in love and peace we were, the whole time, altogether! Cheers, my friends!
It was another beautiful and sublime Sunday!
Thanks for passing by!
Be blessed and have a wonderful week ahead!
Thanks, @ace108 and @c0ff33a :)
Have a great Sunday, my friends!
Yours,
Isabel
