One work colleague lives in NH, he recommended me a farm for a weekend getaway. My husband and I went to Applecerst Farm Orchards in Hampton Falls in NH today. It was a great day for outside activity. This year, the weather is a little bit weird, it's mid 70's today, no wonder trees don't know what to do. Many trees are still green, some have changed, some are bold already. It's a very interesting year. Let's see what Winter is going to look like.
一位同事推荐我们去Applecerst 农场。今天天气晴朗，温度在70 度多。一点都不像秋天。今年的天气有点反常。难怪连树木都不知道该如何反应。很多树到现在还是绿色的，一些已经变色，还有一些已经完全秃了。 这将是很有意思的一年，就看接下来冬天到底如何了？
When we got to the farm, the parking lawn was already packed. It’s the time of the year when most people will go to farm to pick pumpkins and does apply picking. We were told there were a lot events today.
当我们到农场的时候，停车场都停满了车。现在正是大家去农场挑南瓜和摘苹果的好时节。那里的人告诉我们今天有很多活动。
Pumpkins are one of the key products of this farm. They sell all different kinds of pumpkins, different types, some have very strange shape and are mostly for decorations. The farm did some makeup to the pumpkins, you can feel Halloween right at the corner.
这家农场里有很多的南瓜。各种各样，不同品种。有些南瓜的形状真是很怪异，根本不能吃，主要是装饰作用。 农场在很多南瓜上都画了图案，让你感受到浓烈的万圣节气氛。
There were few artists working on a giant green pumpkin, turning it into a huge monster. The pumpkin doesn’t have even shape, what they did was to cut the back and check the thickness of the pumpkin and decide which is the thickest area for nose and then decide how to position rest of the face features. It’s a very time-consuming work, but the artists have done a great job, look at the vivid monster.
有几位艺术家在雕一只绿色的大南瓜。这个南瓜形状不是非常规则，所以艺术家们把南瓜从后面切开一块，把里面的囊拿出来，同时确定南瓜的厚度和哪里最厚。他们把最厚的部位确定成鼻子，然后对着南瓜和鼻子的位置/形状来设计剩下脸的细节地方。雕南瓜很耗时间，但艺术家们技术非常娴熟，看看这活灵活现的怪物。
The farm also arranged live music, few musicians played country music, some peoples esp kids dancing with the music, everybody had great time. After the music, they arrange apply pie eating contest. The winner gets a free pumpkin. They decided the contest into 3 age groups, follow no-hand touch rule. Meaning you have to put your hands at the back, and eat the pie with your mouth only. Very fun to watch and gave us a lot good laugh.
农场还安排现场音乐表演。几位年长的艺术家在台上表演乡村音乐。台下观众特别是小朋友们随着音乐在跳舞。大家都玩得非常地开心。 音乐表演结束后，农场还安排了吃苹果派的比赛。赢的人可以去领取免费的南瓜。他们把比赛的人分成三个年龄段。而且要求在吃地时候不能用手去碰触。手要背在身后，只能用嘴巴去吃。非常有意思，惹得大家哈哈大笑。
My colleague told me the farm also serves good food, we had our lunch there. Both of us ordered burgers and fries. Not bad at all, very tasteful. They were so big that we don't think we would want to have dinner tonight. However, we did leave some room for their farm made ice cream. What a great relaxing day.
我同事告诉我们这家农场的餐厅提供的食物不错。所以我们就去那里吃午餐。我们点了三明治和薯条。味道确实不错。吃下这两个巨无霸，连晚餐都解决了。我们都是甜食狂热者，哪里能错过他们农场自制的冰激凌。真是好幸福的一天呀。
