Sunday is a time when people flock to the malls to spend time with the family before the week starts again. Shopping , food, movies, amusement and sometimes you get a chance to see an event that is filled with fun and color. This event pulled in a crowd at the back part of the mall where it was being held. This is .................................................
The Mascot Parade
The parade was getting ready and balloons were lined up already. The crowd was building up as it moves closer to the start of the event.
It was pretty hard to get a good spot to watch the parade. The best spot would be behind the rails so you could get a good shot and view as the event unfolds. Children with their parent patiently waited for it to start. In their announcement it should have started already and it was already past an hour in the time they said it would begin. Kids were already getting impatient and some already left which gave me a chance to get a good spot behind the rails.
Finally after more than an hour of waiting the parade began.
The crowd grew thicker the moment it started when the mascots began to march. Kids were being carried by their parent to be able to get a good view of the ongoing parade. Due to my patience I was able to get a good spot. There was a kid behind me that I asked to squeeze in front of me to be able to get a glimpse. Some kids squeezed thru the rails to get closer which I do not know how they did.
The first batch of mascots was from the mall itself. Animal characters which is used to promote the mall in events like this paraded with pride as they were the host of this event. A lot of mascots across the country from restaurants , companies , mobile phones, movies, cartoons wanted to be part of this big parade. It is a chance for them to advertise their business as a lot of people were there.
There were large air balloons up in the air which attracted more people to watch the parade.
To make it more elaborate they also threw in marching bands to give more excitement and upbeat mood to the event.
Here comes Jollibee the mascot for the no.1 fast food chain in the country. Everyone here knows Jollibee and when he is around the fun never stop both loved by kids and adults alike. I love their breakfast meals especially their longganisa and juicy fried chicken.
There is a lively burrito which I did not catch from which restaurant as there was a lot of action going on.
Next there were characters to promote Vikings Buffet a lot of options and good food in this restaurant. Sometime you would need to reserve or wait a long line to get a table.
Anyone in a mood for a latte of frappe?
These colorful guys are from Paradise Dynasty Restaurant known for their 8 colored dumplings which was colored naturally with plant extracts and each with different unique flavors . We have not tried this restaurant yet but soon we must have a taste.
Anyone for ice cream from Dairy Queen? I would have been a good idea for them to give away coupons to attract more customers.
This is from Magnolia Company offers a lot of dairy products and also poultry.
Everyone knows McDonalds and here are some of their mascots. I was looking for Ronald but I think he passed by without me noticing.
After the restaurants here comes the mobile phone which has a very large market in our country. A lot of people wants new phones each time a new model comes out. The competition here is very tight to get attention. This group had the most number of mascots some I think had around 40 mascots.
The mobile mascot group started with Huawei which has a very strong market here in our country. Their phones are very good quality and the specs are very competitive for a lower price.
Here comes Meizu These are the most adorable mascots I have seen for a mobile phone.
We have Smart mobile which is one of the the leading service providers here in the country.
Next we have Oppo another mobile phone which is getting much attention and exposure these days.
Now here comes Vivo the mobile phone which I recently just purchased. I got the V7 model which is very fast which is what I needed to always be online and to keep me on Steemit all the time. Best buy for your buck and the specs are awesome for a low price.
They had the most number of mascots in this parade and they flooded the street with their name and blue color which was amazing.
Followed by another marching band which I do not know if they are also part of the Vivo group to grab more attention.
Floating by the air balloons was an awesome sight to see. The kids were specially amazed with those colorful giant air balloons floating up in the air.
We have some storm troopers on march for conquest. @bearkid would have loved this part as she is a starwars fanatic. Too bad she was with her mom shopping. If only she hanged out with her dad instead.
The Transformers were also present at the parade which was a fan favorite. Alot of people we asking to take a photo with the characters.
The The SM Mall of Asia one of the largest malls in the country.
After the parade they lined up in front of the mall for a little presentation and a chance for people to take photos and meet their favorite characters.
I think my position has been compromised the storm trooper has spotted me. I'd better move to a different location now.
Just look a the crowd that which this event has gathered. I also saw a drone flying around maybe from a TV station to get a bird's eye view of the happenings around the viewers
They had a stage prepared on the inside of the mall as I think there would also be a presentation and performances afterwards. I was not able to wait for it as I needed to go back and look for @mhel and @bearkid to have dinner.
This was a fun filled event which I witnessed. I only went outside to take some photos of the bay and the sunset but instead I was lucky enough to catch this event instead.
