It was 8:00 am when suddenly the power went out. We waited for an hour and still the power has not returned. It was lunch time already and still no power. While having lunch with the family it was really hot at 96° F we needed relief from the excessive heat. Where to go to get relief from the heat? Everyone said.............."Let's go to the mall."

Mall Day

We went out and took the first bus we could find to get us to the mall. Inside the bus the heat was intense but bearable. We just needed to endure a little bit longer in order to get relief from the heat.

Finally we reach the mall called SM the most popular mall chain in the country. The SM stands for shoe mart as originally it was only a small shoe store which has turned into an industry worth billions of pesos.

From the outside it does not seem to be a lot of people were headed to the mall today.

Looks like that a lot of people were already inside the mall. Maybe with thoughts of escaping the heat outside as well.

Coming from outside we first wanted to cool ourselves down and got ourselves some sundae from McDonalds. It was a perfect dessert to get our temperature back to normal.

Now we have been cooled down by the sundae. We needed to decide what to do to pass the time.

So many things to do in the mall and we needed to decide. Play arcade with the kids, do window shopping, play bingo and there are so many options.

The kids wanted to roam around and check a second hand book store. I myself just wanted to cool down and just relax for a while.

A massage chair for rent which is just what I need. We went inside and was asked how long would I want the massage. There was an option for 25 minutes for 60 pesos or around $1.15 for a relaxing massage from the chair.

The lady asked my what setting would I like with options of soft and hard. I wanted the hard massage and quickly I was directed to the chair with the hard setting already set up. Not comparable to a real massage but it is good enough to have you relaxed.

After my massage they wanted to see a movie and a movie here costs 220-230 pesos which is around $4.20. We have already seen the Infinity War and wanted to check out Deadpool 2.

The movie is rated R-16 and unfortunately my youngest was not allowed to watch it. So he just wanted to play video games instead. There is a place just beside the cinema where you could play video games. Although a bit disappointed it was ok for him for us to go and watch the movie.

We got our tickets and headed inside 30 minutes before the movie starts to get good seats.

Inside the cinema I took a snap shot from my phone just to show how it looks like. It seems it is a very bad photo and I would not take out my camera. I would not want to be accused of camcorder the movie. They would throw you in jail and asked to pay a very large fine.

Here we are patiently waiting for the movie to start. They first would show you a couple for local commercials. Followed by some warnings against camcording and some procedures like avoid kicking the chair, turning off you phones, calming down unruly kids ect. Finally some trailers of the up coming movies which I think is standard for all cinemas around the world.

The movie was over and was pretty violent and fun like the previous one. The movie was very hilarious and laughing can be heard throughout the movie. Though I would not be doing a review on Deadpool 2I do highly recommend the movie if you are looking for action and humor.

With everyone satisfied with our mall day. I called a friend and asked if the power has gone back on. We were glad to know that power was back and we could finally go home. We would not want to stay longer in the mall to avoid spending more.
