Each Year during December I visit this Salon to get my hair Rebonded. To get back that soft, silky hair that needs no combing.
Our hair is made of proteins and each of us has different hair structures. There are curly, wavy and straight hair. The hair is treated with a chemical to break down the bonds and rebuilt to change the hair structure into a straight, soft, silky and smooth texture.

This is the process of Hair Rebonding.
I've had my hair rebonded for years now and I have tried different stylists and different hair salons but this salon got my trust. This is the second time I have done my hair in this salon. I was very pleased with the result from last year and decided that Tricia would maintain my hair on wards. Tricia won our trust and this is also the place where the family gets their hair done.
There are a lot of salons in our small city so the competion is tough. You would see a lot of Christmas promos to get more customers at a lower price.

This is the place and a few customer at this time as it is still early but the place becomes quite busy in the latter part of the day.
Lots of options when you need a change of hair color.
Now you just need patience as this would take more the 4 grueling hours for this process. As there is a saying in our country "Tiis Ganda (Suffering to Achieve Beauty) .
Just look at that unruly, ugly hair that is quite a mess. Have been too busy at work to take care of it lately and all those white strands of hair just multiplied this year maybe too much stress from work.
Now let's get this started and make sure no conditioner is used prior to this treatment.
The hair is separated into sections before applying the Relaxant the chemical which breaks down the bonds of the hair.
The Relaxant would need to be applied on all sections of the hair evenly. Once that is done it would be left for like an hour or so.
Once that is done the hair is washed and blow dried to get ready for the ironing process.
The hair is ironed and this would take a lot of time but you would see already that the hair is beginning to straighten up.
While waiting I have my phone with me to do a couple of upvotes, comments and replies. This is time well spent while going thru this process as you might get sleepy while waiting.
After the ironing is done we move on to the hair coloring process which again would need to be applied evenly to all sections of the hair. I wanted a lighter hair color shade but Tricia said that my hair still has a bit color from last year and the lighter color would not show if applied. I would need to have my hair bleached if I wanted the lighter color, which I am not willing to go thru. So Tricia selected medium brown color that would work on my hair.
After another wait for I think was almost an hour. The hair is washed and hair treatment also applied. It is blow dried and given a layered hair style which Tricia also recommended to have body and style. Finally the 4 hour wait is over and see the result for your self.

Thank you Tricia for your amazing work on my hair. I would see you again next year or maybe some follow up treatment sometime after a couple of months.
But it is not over yet as you thought. Newly Rebonded hair can only be washed after 3 days and after that shampoo at least twice a week and maintained with hair conditioner. Also sweat could get your hair wet so you need to take note of that and stay in air condition until the said time. If it gets wet your hair would curl up and would not nice and end up going back to the saloon.
Well again as the saying goes in our country "Tiis Ganda (Suffering to Achieve Beauty) .
