Okay guys I am new to trading on Poloniex but I figured it was time to give it a try. I pulled $100 worth of BTC and deposited it into Poloniex. Yes I know, people aren't loving this exchange lately, but I'm just using it as a testing ground to try out my first few trades. I was thinking RieCoin / RIC looks like a great place to start so I put $70 into that. I think SiaCoin / SIA has good potential also so I put $30 bucks into that.
After that I then struggled with stop limit orders thinking I needed one of those in order to sell at a higher price than I bought at. About 20 minutes into trying to figure out why stop limit orders didn't work the way I thought that they should I realized that I don't need a stop limit order.......only a sell order. I am now sitting with 2 sell orders and trying to exit with $150 bucks.
I have always played the long game but I think it's a good idea to try out the short game as well and see if there's money to be made. I know the short game requires a better eye...... but I do think that RIC and SIA will be good choices to get started.
As it stands, I started with $100, now I have $105 in 5 minutes. Wish me luck!
