Károly Takács (Hungarian name order Takács Károly) (21 January 1910 – 5 January 1976) was the first shooter to win two Olympic gold medals in the 25 metre rapid fire pistol event, both with his left hand after his right hand was seriously injured. He is the third known physically disabled athlete to have competed in the Olympic Games after George Eyser in 1904 and Olivér Halassy in 1928, followed by Liz Hartel in 1952 and Neroli Fairhall in 1984. His Dream and focus has destroyed. He had only two ways :- 1) He kept crying in his the rest life or go somewhere and hide himself.
2)He kept his dream alive Whereby he focused.
He didn't focus on that what go out from his life. Which he didn't have. He focused on that, Which he had kept. And, what he had kept ? A left hand. A such hand Whereby he can't even write.
There was continued the treatment till one month for the right hand and after one month,He Had started the training for his left hand. He returned after the training of one year in 1939.
National championships was going on in Hungry. And there were many pistol shooters, They came near Karoly and congratulate him and said that it is the strength. It is the sportman spirit That Even after all this, you come here to encourage us but Nobody knew that he was training from a year for his left hand. He replied them I am not coming here to encourage you. Be prepare I am coming here to compete you.
The competition began The rest all were compete with their best hand but The Karoly was compete with his alone hand. and Who won? A man with the only hand, Karoly won.
But He did not stop here because his goal was clear that He has to make his hand the best shooting hand in the world and He focused at 1940, When the olympics was about to start but the 1940's olympics became canceled due to world War.
He began to focus on 1944's Olympics and 1944's olympics again became canceled due to world War and
He began to focus on 1948's Olympics.
