Get some ByteBall for free, just for holding Bitcoin

There's an ByteBall airdrop for Bitcoin holders tomorrow for the full moon of July (July 9, 2017 at 04:07 UTC). So, if you have some BTC, you'll get extra money for free.

How much

As announced on byteball.org:

we'll distribute 62.5 MB for each 1 BTC of linked balance and 0.2 new byte for each 1 byte you already hold

Let's do some math: 62.5 MB = 0.0625 GBYTE. So, for holding 1 BTC you'll get about 0.022 BTC, which is cca 55 USD. Plus 2.1111 * 62.5 blackbytes. Not bad! Also taking into account that byteball price is dropping now, you could get even more if you'd hold those free tokens.

Why

Airdropping is a common practice to get new users on board. For example, Stellar had an airdrop recently. There are no risks, you don't need to send your bitcoins to them.

What do you need

Remember that the bitcoins put on an exchange are not yours! You should hold your private keys for your bitcoins! You have to use Electrum or any other BTC wallet to hold your bitcoins, so you can sign messages to confirm that you own them. Second, you need a Byteball wallet.

How to install

Download Byteball wallet from https://byteball.org/#download. Install, open and accept the terms:

Then select if you want download the full blockchain data (full wallet). The light wallet would be enough:

Then give a name for the device:

Congrats! Now you have your Byteball wallet:

How to participate

On https://byteball.org/#download click the link chat with the Transition Bot to participate in the distribution round. As a result your Byteball wallet app will open the bot, where you can generate a Byteball address:

Now you have two options, to either send a small amount of BTC to register your bitcoin address or just to sign a message to confirm that BTC address is yours:

The first option is simple, but you have to spend that small amount of BTC and the transaction fee. The second one has no expanses, but it's a bit more advanced. Here you can find a detailed instruction on how to sign a message with Electrum.
