Bitcoin has crossed 1800 USD price which made loads of people to buy and sell it = loads of transactions.

Remember when you sometimes had to wait 2 days for transaction to hit? There was prolly 40-60k transactions stuck.
Look on this!

Current minimal fee to get into a block not stuck is over 1,5 USD aka 0.001 BTC minimum.

STEEM, BTS and LTC To Be Used!

So if you want to move BTC between places that have SBD or STEEM.. Best is to convert into that and then move fast, free (-exchange fees) and convert back.
Litecoin (since yesterday) is also a decent solution and of course BTS the initial grapehene coin too.
