🗞 Presidential Hopeful Andrew Yang Plans to Regulate Crypto Industry
Democratic 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang has outlined how he plans to regulate the cryptocurrency industry.
Promise to promote legislation on cryptocurrencies
On Nov. 14, Yang, an entrepreneur, lawyer, philanthropist and a Democratic candidate in the 2020 United States presidential election, wrote in a Nov. 14 blog post on the tech industry that cryptocurrencies experience the levels of fraud that they do because of lack of adequate regulations. He said:
“Other countries, which are ahead of us on regulation, are leading in this new marketplace and dictating the rules that we’ll need to follow once we catch up.”
🗞 Alibaba Denies ‘Partnership’ With Lolli, Highlighting Crypto Industry Pitfalls
On Monday, CoinDesk reported the shopping app Lolli was offering bitcoin rewards to U.S.-based Alibaba shoppers for Singles Day.
Alibaba Group representatives have since denied the “partnership” touted by Lolli CEO Alex Adelman. The fissure revealed a common misconception in the blockchain industry.
“One of Alibaba.com’s contractors hired a subcontractor who brokered an affiliate marketing program with Lolli. This was done without the knowledge of Alibaba.com,” an Alibaba spokesperson told CoinDesk. “Alibaba.com’s contractor is terminating the relationship with the subcontractor who was working with Lolli. As a result, Lolli should no longer promote or bring traffic to Alibaba.com.”
🗞 German Regulator Flags Crypto Broker for Operating Without License
German regulator federal financial supervisory authority (BaFin) issued a warning against Bulgarian cryptocurrency broker 5 Capital on Nov. 11.
The regulator has barred 5 Capital from operating in the country since the firm illegally offered Contracts for Difference (CFDs) designed to expose clients to the price movements of cryptocurrencies.
Operating without license
The regulator found that the company provided the service without the necessary license. Per the announcement, the broker is based out of Sofia, Bulgaria and solicits its users to use a website operated by its parent company, 21TEX. BaFin recommends investors to always check the identity of the companies offering the services they use and do not trust companies that cannot be easily identified.
🗞 ConsenSys CSO Seeks to Raise $50M for New Blockchain Investment Fund
An executive at the Ethereum blockchain firm ConsenSys is launching a new blockchain-oriented investment firm, Aligned Capital. Sam Cassatt, the chief strategy officer (CSO) at ConsenSys, announced that the firm will be seeking to raise $50 million for its first fund in an announcement on Nov. 15.
Cassatt, who has been at the firm for five years, will continue to serve as an advisor to ConsenSys while working full-time as a founding managing partner at Aligned Capital.
Apart from blockchain, Aligned Capital will invest in safe AI and innovative healthcare
According to the announcement, Aligned Capital will be investing in three major areas including blockchain and crypto, safe artificial intelligence and innovative healthcare. Cassatt says that he is planning to use ConsenSys software and collaborate with the startup incubator.
🗞 As Bitcoin Cash Hard Forks, Unknown Mining Pool Continues Old Chain
A rogue chain has developed during a planned bitcoin cash hard fork, as an unknown mining pool failed to update to the new chain’s software.
The on-going chain battle, which should be resolved by bitcoin cash’s internal rules, gives an insider look into how proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanisms operate.
The hard fork occurred on Friday at 16:49:28 UTC at block number 609,135. Two additional blocks broke into two different chains that have been mined for a total of 4 new blocks, according to BitMEX Research’s Fork Monitor.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion
Here is the chart of my last analysis :
Here is the current chart :
So yesterday we were correcting due to the correction also on the BTC. It was kinda sad because the STEEM was dpo,g a nice UP all the day before. Look what we have today, the buyers on the STEEM are still interested to buy and buy even the BTC is stabilizing. I think that we have the start of a nice trend which is taking place on the STEEM. It would be nice that the BTC is stopping to correct as it would allow the STEEM to do its own move which look bullish till now.
