🗞 Bitcoin Price Climbing Back to $9K — Here’s the Key Level to Break
Since making a strong attempt at reclaiming the $9K mark at the start of the month, Bitcoin (BTC) price has pulled back slightly but now trades in a tightening range between $8,662 and $8,946. The digital asset is attempting to retake $9K but continuously receives pushback at $8,969.
The total crypto market cap chart shows that purchasing volume has ground to a halt and is yet to recover from the onslaught of last week. As shown below, the total market cap found support at $236.9 billion where there is a high volume node and currently the market cap is holding above the 200-day moving average.
For the time being, it seems investors are still sitting on their hands, assessing whether the spread of the Coronavirus will continue to negatively impact global markets, hence Bitcoin’s recent sideways price action.
🗞 Russian Oligarch, Ex-Cabinet Minister Invested in Telegram’s ICO, Court Filing Says
A Russian oligarch, a former cabinet minister and the COO of German fintech company Wirecard invested in Telegram’s $1.7 billion initial coin offering (ICO), according to a previously unreported court document.
Tycoon Roman Abramovich and former Minister of Open Government Affairs Mikhail Abyzov bought tokens, known as grams, via offshore funds, the document says.
These big names' involvement is the latest twist in the case brought against Telegram by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which claims the messaging app provider violated securities laws by failing to register its 2018 token sale.
🗞 Stop Treating Bitcoin as Risky. It’s a Safer Asset Than Most
Jill Carlson, a CoinDesk columnist, is co-founder of the Open Money Initiative, a non-profit research organization working to guarantee the right to a free and open financial system. She is also an investor in early stage startups with Slow Ventures.
People think I got into bitcoin because I have a high risk tolerance.
Actually I got in because I have a low risk tolerance for worst case scenarios.
Bitcoin is often touted as a risky bet. It is nascent. It has only been around for about a decade. It is poorly understood by mass markets. It is an experiment. It could still fail. All of these claims are true. In many ways, the risk profile of bitcoin resembles that of an early stage startup. Bitcoin appears to be hovering between the trough of disillusionment and the slope of enlightenment. This means that most people continue to view cryptocurrency as kind of crazy. It’s a gamble.
🗞 Japanese Marketing Firm Invests in Pantera Capital Crypto Fund
Ceres, a marketing firm based in Japan, has just become the latest investor in the San Francisco-based blockchain and cryptocurrency hedge fund Pantera Capital.
On Feb. 28, Ceres announced on its website that they were supplying Pantera an undisclosed amount of yen towards the group’s third crypto fund.
As the first Bitcoin fund in the United States, Pantera was quick to see the potential in cryptocurrency and raised $13 million for its debut offering in 2013, and $25 million for its second. The group’s third venture fund, dubbed Pantera Venture Offshore Fund III LP, was registered in August 2018.
🗞 'Game On!' South Korean Parliament Passes 'Landmark' Crypto Bill (UPDATED)
In a dramatic turnaround, the South Korean parliament, the National Assembly, has voted in favor of the country’s first cryptocurrency-specific legislation in the past few hours. (Updated at 10:20 UTC: updates throughout the entire text).
The amended Special Financial Transactions Information Act, which was approved by a National Assembly finance committee in November last year, will effectively create a framework for the country’s cryptocurrency industry.
Simon Kim, the CEO of Seoul-based blockchain incubator Hashed, told Cryptonews.com,
“There has been great uncertainty regarding regulations in cryptocurrency in South Korea until now. However, with the new law, cryptocurrency has been officially classified as an asset class by the institutions and virtual asset operators are able to operate under proper law in Korea. I believe this is a strong, positive signal for South Korea moving forward and proving itself as the perfect testbed for blockchain and cryptocurrency on the global scene.”

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion
Here is the chart of my last analysis :
Here is the current chart :
The Steem is currently trying to break the resistance line at 0.19$. It is quiet disturbing when we know all the problems that we have currently with the gourvernance. I suspect that we are doing a little UP trend due to all the people who are buying STEEM to try to save the chain from the Justine attack with the help of exchanges. Let's hope we won't experience a purge when all this story will done.
