π US Regulators Debate Whether Bitcoin is Commodity or Security
Daniel Gorfine, CFTC's Chief Innovation Officer, said at the release of the primer.
βAs people worldwide try to understand and wrap their heads around the virtual currency ecosystem, we thought it timely and important for our first primer to help explain the space, identify how developments involve the CFTC, and highlight risks that investors or users of virtual currencies should carefully consider.β
βThere is no inconsistency between the SECβs analysis and the CFTCβs determination that virtual currencies are commodities and that virtual tokens may be commodities or derivatives contracts depending on the particular facts and circumstances.β

π Blockchain Oracles, Explained
What are Blockchain oracles?
Blockchain oracles sound like something from ancient Greek mythology, and in a way, they function in a similar role. In ancient stories, people didnβt have enough information to make decisions and turned to oracles for information beyond their understanding.
In the same way, Blockchains like those of Bitcoin and Ethereum, do not have ready access to information outside of the chain, and so there is no direct way to validate the conditions that smart contracts are based on. An oracle is, simply put, a translator for information provided by an outside platform.

π In 'Search' of a Swell? XRP Prices Rise and Fall Amid Ripple Event
And though it's a drop that's largely in line with bitcoin and the broader crypto asset class, there are conditions that perhaps make XRP worthy of exploration at present.
For one, XRP has steadily gained altitude from its Sept. 15 low of $0.14, an uptrend that seems most likely to coincide with anticipation for big announcements at Swell, the conference the company launched on Oct. 16 to compete with rival Swift.
A new (possibly annual) event designed to draw attention to its product suite, the conference spotlighted how Ripple is seeking to provide distributed ledger technology that could one day replace Swift, the organizer of the Sibos conference.

π Upgrade Complete? Ethereum's New Software Isn't Quite Stable Yet
Ethereum's fork may have executed earlier this week, but that doesn't mean developers are ready to call the software transition complete.
One of the biggest-ever changes to the world's second-largest blockchain, ethereum's hard fork was a risky and complex process. To transition successfully, all nodes (the computers that run the software) were required to universally install upgrades β a transition that was expected and encouraged to occur simultaneously across the global platform.
However, in the case of the Byzantium fork, that's not exactly what happened.
As the upgrades were released mere days before the hard fork, a sizeable portion of the network has yet to make the shift. In fact, at press time, only 25.1 percent of Parity and 58.4 percent of Geth, the most popular ethereum clients, have upgraded, meaning roughly 45 percent of the network is running the new software.

π Googleβs AutoML AI Clones Itself Into a Better Version
There is never a boring day in the world of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Google is clearly one of the companies leading the charge in this research field right now. However, even its creations may be evolving too quickly right now. It seems an AI developed in-house has successfully cloned itself and turned out to be far more competent than the human-engineered version. Itβs a very interesting yet worrisome turn of events.

BTC Trading Update by @cryptopassion
After the "Fake Head" that we had yesterday, the market is making a nice recovery UP :
We should now have the objective to test the resistance line in orange around 6000$. Don't forget that we are approaching to the end of the triangle and that we will have big events soon on the Bitcoin. The 25th of this month, the picture of the blockchain will be taken to be used to create the Bitcoin Gold blockchain.
So after the 25th, people don't need any more to keep their Bitcoin to receive these free coins. So we should have big movements on the market around that date. The logic would say it will be a big drop but sometimes, market likes to don't do the logic so stay careful.
