I don't do price-predictions. I don't even like price-predictions. But I'm also quite disturbed by the irrational amounts of fear about Bitcoin's future, and with it fear, uncertainty and doubt about every other crypto-currency including our beloved STEEM.

That's why I'll make an exception and point you all to two price-predictions made by notable community members: on May 29th YouTuber DataDash released a video in which he makes the case for the $50,000.00 mark for Bitcoin. He essentially links the expected rise in Bitcoin's validation to the further decline of the off-chain fiat-economy; he points to the increases in debt, explains how Deutsche Bank and the EU will implode, and why Bitcoin will act as a hedge for market players against the ever increasing risks in the failing fiat-economy.
How high can Bitcoin go by the end of 2018? | Here's my perspective
This is not something to be generally happy about: I think, however, he could be well be right and we'll see Bitcoin price spike near the years end, while a lot of people will be hurt by the coming downfall of the world-economy. Let's hope for as little pain as possible, but I'm afraid the only logical end-station for our current economic model is disaster, in one way or another. Since the last major crisis (remember: in capitalism crises are the rule and not the exception) we've tried to solve our financial problems with even more debt...
Then there was this prediction two days ago from Arthur Hayes, the CEO of BitMEX :
"On June 30, in an interview with CNBC’s Seema Mody and Melissa Lee, Hayes reaffirmed his stance on bitcoin achieving a new all-time high by the end of 2018, at around the $50,000 region."

BITCOIN PRICE *$50,000* 2018 - BITMEX CEO
Public decentralized blockchains have proven to be a useful kind of "digital gold": [Bitcoin has died 319 times
](https://99bitcoins.com/obituary-stats/) already since it's birth in 2009, but will celebrate it's first decennium next year. All naysayers and disbelievers are constantly losing ground in the debate over the usability of decentralized crypto-currencies.
I'm still a HODLER, and I feel genuinely bad for all those who lost faith in our decentralized future during the past fud-filled months. I hope the rise of the last 24 hours, as well as these price-predictions can act as a counter-weight to all negativity over crypto these past months. Also remember that low prices are a prime-time to invest, by buying directly, but also by posting here on Steemit!
This is of course in no way financial advice. Steemit is where we share opinions, and that's exactly what I'm doing here, nothing more ;-) Thanks again for reading, keep on Steeming and see you all again soon!
