I'll mostly shut up today and let Andreas Antonopoulos do most of the talking. This speech he delivered in May in Panama City is, in my mind, a beautiful reminder of the importance of cryptocurrencies and the role it will play for all of us.

I've been impressed by the way Andreas Antonopolis is able to explain everything about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for a while now. Since Bitcoin captured my imagination almost a year ago, Andreas has been one of my preferred sources of information on anything blockchain related. From the first time I heard him speak, he convinced me about the importance and possibilities of this nascent technology.
The video linked below is from a speech he gave at the PanamaChain conference in Panama City on May 6th of this year, about the decentralization of globalization; he illustrates for the listeners how globalization as we know it is actually little more than colonialism by means of market-manipulation. How multinationals are the only real benefactors of this development because they can use the disappearance of borders to shop around for the most profitable policy.
But most importantly he discusses why the establishment, be they of the political or the economical kind, are so afraid of this technology of digital money on decentralized public blockchains; it essentially gives us, individuals all over the world, the same powers that used to be owned exclusively by those before mentioned multinationals and their political henchmen. Now our money knows no borders, now we can shop around for the best target demographics worldwide. If you are at all interested in the technology, if you're in this game because you really believe it can make a change and not in the first place for quick and easy profits, then you'll want to listen to what Andreas has to say. The introduction is done in Spanish or Portuguese and the English speech starts at 1.23 minutes:
Decentralized Globalisation
I hope this talk about the "financial superheroes of the future" was as inspiring to you as it was to me :-) In any case, thanks for visiting my blog again and I hope to see you all back here tomorrow!
