What is FarmaTrust?

FarmaTrust is a an efficient blockchain solution designed to solve issues in pharmaceutical supply chains. FarmaTrust will enable the tracking of drugs from production to consumer. This ensures that the contents are as stated, and safe to use. FarmaTrust will integrate with software solutions that are already in place in order to ensure that companies can quickly adopt the technology into their workflow. FarmaTrust will serve various consumers, ranging from the pharmaceutical companies producing the drugs, government entities and the end consumers.

The Problem

Drugs are arguably one of the most important innovations in human history. Drugs range from those used for a simple headache, to those that help with treatments of otherwise terminal illnesses. Due to the money involved surrounding pharmaceutical industry, it comes as no surprise that there is fraud which aims to take advantage of this multi-billion dollar industry.

Problem 1: Dangerous Fraud

Estimates put the number of counterfeit drug victims, resulting in death, are in the range of 120,000 to 1,000,000.

The estimated number of people that die due to counterfeit drugs is estimated to be in the range of 120,000 to 1,000,000 every year. These are individuals who are receiving the wrong, fake or simply dangerous drugs being misrepresented as a different drug.

Problem 2: Supply Chain Cost

Cost of drugs is a widely debated issue all over the globe. A part of the price is due to the cost that pharmaceutical companies incur in their supply chain process. This administrative cost is passed on directly to the consumer, causing drugs that could be affordable to skyrocket in price.

The FarmaTrust Blockchain Solution

Both of the problems stated above are caused by an inefficient and outdated supply chain system. FarmaTrust presents a solution that cleverly utilizes the blockchain in order to track drugs from their production facility to the hands of the consumer. This gives consumers the power to check the legitimacy of their drugs, thereby significantly reducing the risk of being defrauded.

FTT & ZOI Tokens

FarmaTrust works on FTT and ZOI tokens. FTT tokens can be staked to receive ZOI tokens. The ZOI tokens are then used on the FarmaTrust Zoi platform. The ZOI tokens are an internal currency to be used and traded only on the Zoi platform. They are for use of FarmaTrust services. The FTT tokens on other hand are exchangeable. The ZOI tokens are used to create Compilance Tracking tokens which are used for tracking serialized product keys of products.
