My Top Five Favorite Oldschool Psychedelic Rock Bands. No, Pink Floyd is not on the list.

Good morning Steemians of Steemville, its another grand day to be alive here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

Music has always been a very important part of my life in many different aspects. I wrote lyrics for bands in high-school and began recording hip-hop at a young age. When I don't know what to do with my thoughts, I put on music with a heart-felt tune. When I'm with my friends conversing, I put on some relaxing tunes to stimulate intelligent thought. Everything is better with music, have you ever watched a movie without a soundtrack?

That being said, the previous relationship I was in the woman was a DJ by hobby and so for four years she controlled the music. I fell out of my practices of finding new bands to listen to. Recently I have been expanding my library again as I find myself coming back into my being.

I have never been one to know much about the artists or the groups that perform the music, the same goes for any media form and their respective faces (perhaps @dwinnblood will know more about these bands). All I know is that there is no such thing as bad music. There is music that I do not care for, but that does not make it bad as I'm certain there is at least one person who likes it, even if its the person who made it.

Today I wanted to take the time to share a few of the old-school rock bands that I have been listening to over the past few months. I have always been a huge fan of Pink Floyd but never listened to many other psychedelic rock from around their era. As such, I've been delving into many different bands finding many good listenings and several gems. Let's begin with Gun.

Gun

This band is wonderful. They have heavy rifts with psychedelic vocals and great melodies to match.

Osamu Kitajima

Osamu creates beautiful soundscapes reminiscent of traditional Japan. With little vocals, Osamu Kitajima builds powerful track focusing on guitar and other instruments to produce psychedelic sounds.

Atomic Rooster

Using synth boards and psychedelic vocals over trippy guitar rifts, Atomic Rooster rocks hard! The lead singer has an incredible range of vocals that work incredibly well with the synth sounds they employ.

Three Man Army

One of my personal favorites that I have come across so far, Three Man Army uses strong rifts with fabulous vocals and wonderful lyrics.

May Blitz

By far, my top pick of them all that I have come across so far is May Blitz. An all around very psychedelic group. Powerful vocals and every instrument falls in perfect harmony with one another to create a soundscape of grand beauty.

What are your favorite psychedelic rock bands? Feel free to share with us so that we may all expand our libraries!
