In late 2016, I purchased my first home. I had a steady job, a car that had been paid off, and a case of the 'lets get sensible, you're 30 in 2017'. So much of that changed in 2017.
The year that was 2017 was full of learning about how to do things, and becoming more and more of one of those people who just tries to do something.
This is evidenced by the fact that prior to this year, I'd never drilled a hole in a wall. Now, my TV sits mounted there, and I own a circular saw, have built a TV cabinet from scratch, and haven't burned down my house, or shed; while doing so.
It also was a year where I obtained the South Australian Steemit licence plate, and it is mine. No one else can have it. :)
I won't tell a long, drawn out narrative about what changed in my life, but merely pluck a few events:
- Visited a hospital three times. Twice for my partner, Once for me.
- Got made redundant (laid off) from my job - found another role in the same company.
- Persisted on Steemit, started to reap the rewards (thank you to my followers and friends)
- Got the house painted!
- Sprained my glute, hamstring, and wrists pretty severely (not all at once!)
- Had a bout of Crypto-mining fever, and used this to warm the bedroom in winter.
- Observed the passing of a legendary, encouraging Steemian, @lauralemons
- Diagnosed with EOS-bullishness, at one point going all in on EOS, before starting to diversify.
- Got the car to just over 23,000 KM.
- Went from 0 Followers to ~1100 - Thank you again!
Amid all of this, somehow became the most knowledgeable person about crypto in my circle of friends.
What I want to focus on in 2018
My gaming content. I miss playing games so much, and never feel as though I get to play them enough.
My health and well being. I've put on weight this year, as it feels like I've had one health hurdle after the next this year.
Growing closer relationships with those that are coming on the crypto journey with us all.
HODL'ing.
Better time management, and hopefully, keeping the job I secured in my company.
More photography. I really, really miss taking photos.
This will be my last post for the year. Go Ahead, roll your eyes.
Thank you for every upvote, follow, resteem, thoughtful comment, and challenging opinion. I adore the Steemit platform, and hope that we'll see 2 million account by the end of next year, and that I'll be terribly wrong with this prediction.
Stay safe while celebrating.
I love the fact that this year, the last day of the year is on the first day of a week. Feels symbolic.
