Welcome to another day of the #botanicalgardentours. Today I want to present to you the Sisyrinchium Striatum, also known as the Satin Flower.
Herzlich willkommen zu einem weiteren Tag mit den #botanicalgardentours. Heute möchte ich euch die Sisyrinchium Striatum vorstellen, die auch als Binsenlilie oder Argentinisches Grasschwertel bekannt ist.
The Satin Flower is an evergreen perennial plant that is native to the alpine graslands and meadows of Argentina and Chile. She is moderate winter-hardy up to -12 °C and has really straight upright stems that can get as high as 50 cm. The leaves are sword shaped and grow in an alternate fashion. The flowers bloom during may and june and are located on top of the stems in clusters. They have six creamy white petals. The center is golden coloured with three stamen inside.
Die Binsenlilie ist eine immergrüne mehrjährige Pflanze, die in den Alpenwiesen und Graslandschaften Argentiniens und Chiles heimisch ist. Sie ist mäßig winterhart bis -12 ° C und hat wirklich gerade aufrechte Stiele, die bis zu 50 cm hoch werden können. Die Blätter sind schwertförmig und wachsen abwechselnd. Die Blüten blühen im Mai und Juni und wachsen in Büscheln auf den Stielen. Sie haben sechs cremeweiße Blütenblätter. Das Zentrum ist goldfarben mit drei Staubblättern im inneren.
