Going back to things to eat in Finland, we have the Bacon King burger from Burger King!
Within the Mikkeli city center Burger King and Subway are pretty much the only fast food places. Unfortunately, there is no KFC in the entire country! 😲 We were very surprised and a bit disappointed since it meant we wouldn't be able to eat fried chicken for a few months (we didn't really have the ability/capacity to fry it ourselves).
Anyway, we're really big fans of bacon (who isn't!) so BK's advertisement for a bacon burger caught our eye the first time we walked past. It was quite cold outside at the time and we were really hungry so we decided to finally give it a try!
I didn't manage to get a picture of another advertisement, but there was another set meal at Burger King where you could get a beer instead of the usual coke/pepsi! If you notice in the picture above you can see the beer tap too! I just thought it was so cool because you can't get that in Singapore.
I guess beer in Finland is so prevalent that it's become as popular as coke. When I went to Germany I remember the beer there was cheaper than water! I didn't know Finland was so big on beer too. After a riot in 2013, Singapore has become pretty strict on alcohol consumption, where stalls selling it need to have licenses and consumption of alcohol in a public space or non-licensed premise is restricted from 10.30pm to 7am. I suppose fast food restaurants in Singapore have to be more family-friendly or something so they can't sell alcohol, or it's just difficult to get licenses for so many outlets?

Anyway, we ordered the Bacon King meal for €9.30, which came with fries and a drink that we could choose from the drink station. We also topped up €1.95 for 10 nuggets. There was another kind of bacon burger, the Texas Bacon King, which we tried another time.
We could choose a sauce for the fries and we chose a Mexicana sauce which tasted a little like salsa
The burger was actually pretty big! We shared 1 but I think I wouldn't be able to finish one by myself. It doesn't look big here, but I think it's about 1.5x bigger than Singapore BK burgers.
Inside the burger were 2 beef patties, cheese, bacon strips and BBQ sauce. I'm not really a fan of BBQ sauce but it was still pretty yummy. 😋 The bacon could've been crispier though.
The nuggets tasted really good with the Mexicana sauce! And the packaging of the nuggets had something funny on it.
I'd say the meal overall was pretty deliciousous! hehe.
