You see, it´s different on Steemit, people actually celebrate this because it seems like a real achievement to stick here posting meaningful content every day, to engage constantly and interact with tons of different people from all over the world.
The big difference from Steemit against other social media is that in here we are paired up with people with whom we share interests, passions, mindsets or points of view and the we become friends with each other whereas in the mainstream social media, you just become online friends with people you already know in real life, but it is extremely hard to connect with people living on the other side of the world, and it is practically impossible to establish a true relationship with anyone you don´t personally know.
Some of you follow me because I post kickass adventure content - or so I think -, some because of the posts about social analysis, lots of you because of the contests I throw every once in a while and some of you just because I have some delegated Steem Power. Either way, I´d like to think that, on Steemit, we follow people because we care about what they have to say/write/post and, as we keep interacting with them, we start to create certain kind of online bond and then it seems as if we already met this persona and we are already friends with them.
It happened to me when I went to Steem Fest 2, there were some people with whom I interacted so much, that when we met in person it was as if we were friends for years! That´s the beauty of the Steem blockchain based platforms like Steemit, Dlive or Busy.
So, I would like to know a lot more about some of you and I guess some of you would like to know a bit more about me. Not my ideas or the topics I write about here - which let´s face it, I speak my mind but you don´t know who Eric is - but how I am on a personal level.
