WHAT IS KULI KULI
  • Kuli-kuli as I rightly said is a food that is eaten all over the West Africa, name it Nigeria, Ghana and many part of West Africa, that is Kuli Kuli is primarily made from peanuts. It is a so much common and used as light food also snack in Nigeria and Ghana. It is sometimes consume alone or with a mixture of garri, sugar and water popularly called "garri soakings". It is also consumed with some other food items like Pap .it is often ground as used as an ingredient for Suya preparations and Kilishi also inform of suya as well. But in dried form. Here is what I am saying about the kuli-kuli.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE KULI-KULI
  • With what I have seen and heared to make Kuli-kuli, peanuts are roasted either by fire, oven but here it is roasted by hand turning using fire wood, big frying pan and then grind into a paste called "Labu". The paste is then mixed with spices such as salt, and sometimes grinded pepperto make it taste more pepperish. The paste is stripped of excess oil with water, and made into the desired shape here I will she us long shape, and star shape (round balls, cylinders, etc.). The oil removed in this process is then heated and used to fry the shaped peanut paste until it solidifies into hhard substance called Kuli-kuli . It is then removed from the oil and allowed to cool down until ready to be eaten, as shown down in the images taken by me throughout.

  • Here is it from the step 1. ( Roasting of the Peanut)

Wow, like I said earlier on this, this is just a way out of many ways to fry kuli-kuli. The pot was put on fire for several minutes until it was getting hot and hotter then the paste was laid into the hot oil gradually.

My own contribution is this , I want us to consume groundnut because it's very health if eaten moderately. Also Groundnuts ( Peanut) are very healthy because they are very excellent sources of beneficial nutrients to the body such as proteins,

carbohydrates,
vitamins,
minerals and oil.

Down are some of the vitamins and minerals that can be seen or gotten from groundnuts;

Vitamin A.
Vitamin E.
Vitamin C.
B complex vitamins like folic acid, and hosphorus.Zinc.
