STEEM: Whales Are Losing Their Power....The System Is Not Broken...Report through 12/31/18 (Year End)

I am going to change things up a bit for this report. The regular format will return next month.

In this one, I am going to lay out two changes: for the month of December and for the year 2018.

The last report is here:

Whales -10.26%
Orcas +33.62%
Dolphins +49.46%
Minnows +45.30%
Planktons +27.96%
Inactive +154.52%

For the second month in a row, the Orcas had impressive growth. Their standing jumped another 4%. My view is the price of STEEM is factoring into this as the Orcas are the ones buying and powering up at the greatest rate. The Dolphins held strong also.

The system is working. The Whales lost power overall as was the case for most of the year. This is shown in the stats for the year. They lost 10.26% off where they started the year. The rest of the accounts were up a significant amount.

Looking at things over the course of the year really shows how things changed. As I usually allude to, the coin distribution might not be happening as fast as some want, but it is happening.

One final way to look at it:

At the start of the year, Orcas-Dolphins-Minnows had 118,235 MVests. By year end, it was up to 162,924, or a growth rate of 37.80%.

We are seeing a middle class starting to form.
