This is my entry for @daveks black and white photo contest with winter as the theme.
As I stepped outside last February, I had to stop in my tracks and take in the beauty of the scene before me. There, thickly clinging to every dark, rough branch was a beautiful white accent of freshly fallen snow.
It was a warm and wet snow in the Ozarks, so I knew the stunning perfection would not last long. I quickly ran inside to grab my Canon Rebel T2i. Often I just snap pictures on my smart phone, but this was extra special. The sun came out and added an extra glint to the shimmering contrast, making it magical behold.
It was not too long after this, a slew of children, donned in their hats and mittens, made good use of all this wonderfully packable snow. The air rang with laughter as they threw snowballs, made forts, and sledded down the few inches of quickly melting snow. Meanwhile, the branches quietly dripped off their white blanket. Spectacle savored, I went inside contentedly with memory in mind and the scene captured vividly by my camera.
