New Requirements Are As Follows:
To combat the abuse, the following rule changes are in effect immediately:
To be eligible for rewards the to be attested Steem account must have been created on July 12, 2018 or earlier;
Accounts created after July 12 can still refer other users and earn referral rewards, just not attestation rewards;
Rewards for the rep 30–40 and 40–50 brackets have been halved to combat the profitability of buying upvotes to boost your reputation.

HOW @BALLS2STEEM WORKS
For now, it is a pretty easy process, but hopefully we can soon simplify it much more. The amount of STEEM that is being exchanged is limited - supplied by @jackmiller & @grow-pro. WHY? Simple. We are happy to help users exchange their bytes for STEEM. We are doing it to provide utility to the community and we both are happy to save GBYTE. We have STEEM ready to exchange and are happy to assist anyone who wishes to get STEEM in exchange for their GBYTE.
GETTING STARTED
Two ways to Start:
Option 1:
Send a memo from your Steemit wallet - 0.001 (STEEM or SBD Acceptable) - this memo fee will be returned - Memo should include: how many bytes / GBYTE you wish to exchange - ex. 0.123 GBYTE. You will receive confirmation via a memo (getting your .001 back) that we can accept your exchange, the conversion rate / STEEM you will receive and you will receive the address to send your GBYTE to within the memo. Once your transaction is confirmed on the BYTEBALL DAG, Your STEEM will be sent to the wallet address that you sent the memo from.
Option 2:
Comment on this post, must be a direct reply to this post, not reply to existing comments, to initiate an exchange. Your comment should include: How much GBYTE you wish to convert. You will receive a conversion rate via @balls2steem that will be good for 3 hours - if you accept the exchange rate, simply send the funds to the prompted GBYTE Address and the STEEM will be sent to your Steemit wallet.
PLEASE NOTE: Do NOT Send Funds without reading & following these instructions carefully. If you send funds without confirming the exchange with us - it will not execute the exchange since there was no agreement in place. We will hold the funds until both parties agree on the conversion rate and a refund can be issued ONLY prior to STEEM being sent. Once the transaction is complete - there is NO WAY TO REFUND. Sending funds without an agreement will cost you fees to send and also fees for us to send back - resulting in 2x the loss in fees. Read carefully before submitting a request for exchange to avoid these mistakes.
HELPFUL REMINDERS
- Change your wallet to GB, not Bytes. This helps to prevent confusion when dealing with Bytes, Kb, MB, GB conversions. (see below if you are not familiar with how to change this setting)
- Remember that there are fees to send GBYTE, so the full amount that you see in your GBYTE wallet will not be the full amount - however, we are offering the full STEEM amount as appreciation for those who choose to utilize our 'human' service. We are not automated at this time and all transactions are executed manually.
HOW TO CHANGE BYTES TO GB
Select the button at the top, left-hand corner of your wallet to open the side panel. Then you wil select "SETTINGS" / Global Preferences.
Next, you will see there is an option to select Units for Bytes - select that to change your unit measurement to GB.
