Lets Talk A Little Bit More About Cannabis Edibles

A few days ago, I shared the fact that eating cannabis (infused into a food) produces a different high than when it’s smoked or vaporized.

This May Not Be A Widely Known Fact For Those Of You Who Don’t Have Any Experience Eating Cannabis Infused Food.

A high that is achieved through eating a medicated food item is ten times stronger than one achieved through smoking.

It feels different and usually you get both a cerebral or head high, coupled with a very intense body stone.

Walking maybe a challenge. Remembering might be another, but not to worry, you’ll simply just forget to care about wanting to walk or remember.

Almost all your senses heighten...at once. (Hearing, taste, touch and smell). Sight can be a different story, for some. (I find it difficult to keep my eyes from squinting and they usually look like 2 narrow slits.)

An edible high also last for longer periods of time.

Often 8 hours (or more ) depending on the strength of the edible and the portion-size consumed.

This makes them a fantastic option for someone who suffers from insomnia because edibles also produce the best sleep like the dead sleep, ever.

The problem is that most edibles (infused with cannabis) that can be bought at a dispensary are commercially prepared candies.

Infused chocolate bars, gummies and lollipops are the most common items to see. I have also seen butter tarts, peanutbutter squares, soda pop and ice cream.

All of these items are made with a tonne of refined sugar, wheat, corn syrup and hydrogenated oils as their main ingredients.

These items offer next to no nutritional density and certainly do nothing to soothe a body riddled with disease or straddled with inflammation.

In fact, these are the exact ingredients that most people living with a serious illness or disease try to avoid.

Usually, At All Costs.

I know that I do and as a direct result, I just make my own.

This way, I have complete control over the ingredients that I choose to use and consume. This also lets me customize the strength of the cannabis per portion.

Over the years, I have worked to refine my techniques so that the whole experience is pleasurable....for everyone...for the entire flight.

I also am always on the look-out for ingredients that promote good gut health and aren’t inflammatory.

Like the two products in the photo (above). One is a sweetener that’s made with erythritol and oligosaccharides. (Both feed beneficial gut bacteria). The other is a flour which is made from green bananas and won’t contribute to the inflammatory process.

If I’ve gone to all the trouble of growing the herb from seed and taken the time to infuse it into a baking ingredient, you can bet that I’m going to take the time to pair it with other ingredients that won’t cause harm to the body.

I respect the power of the plant too much, to waste its full medicinal potential by baking it into crappy food.

Yikes! There’s all that thinking again...I welcome your comments and I invite you to follow me on my journey. Rebecca
