Manly Coffee Shops, Classic Cars, Flea Markets and Steemians Socializing
Saturday morning when I woke up I saw on Facebook that there was a grand opening of a car spare-shop in our vicinity. The advert also indicated that there is a coffee shop to keep the ladies busy while hubby is shopping for tools and spanners. There would also be some classic cars on display. I thus told my wife that I am taking her for coffee at a new manly coffee shop, and we are driving with my old classic 1968 VW Fastback. We have just decided to go when my brother @marcel1965 phoned asking if we would like to join him and his wife @amanda1971 on an outing to a flee-market some 45km away. I informed him that we are in. I then loaded all the kids @flowergirl, @stormblaze, @starblaze and my wife @stardust into the car, shown in the selfie at the top of the page. It was a tight fir, we felt like sardines in a tin. The photo below shows my brother's 1972 VW (brown) and my 1968 VW (red) parked at the spares shop. We were 7 steemians on this outing. (Most of them were "DEAD" but at least 3 started posting again, I am still working on the rest)
There were some very nice classic cars in the exhibition as is shown in the photos below! You can also read about this in a post from @marcel1965
Below is an Austin, this cars leg room at the back is almost big enough to fit a bed!!
Below is an MG, they just don't make them like this anymore!!
The drivers view in the MG.
A selfie with the help of some highly polished chrome - no selfie stick required!!
Look at the shine of the paint on this Rolls, beautiful!!
We then hit the manly coffee shop. Frankly the spares-shop must rather stick to selling spares and tools, we waited long for the coffee, but the wait was not worth the effort, the coffee tasted like old radiator water!! Below are the 7 off us sitting in the coffee shop. Note the 4 cans in the middle of the table, it is emergency tire repair kits, I bought for the wife and kids.
We then hit the road for the 45km to the flea-market. The photo below is of my brother following us and was taken by one of my passengers.
On arrival I noticed a stowaway on my car, I might do a post on him at a later stage!!
Below is a photo of the flea-market.
I only found one stall interesting, the one selling old toys, below is a photo of an old toy train and some cars.
The locomotive below is a wind up locomotive dating from 1936.
We then went for some coffee and brunch at the coffee shop on site. This coffee shop was decorated with a lot of interesting old stuff. The coffee and food was good in this case and we enjoyed our selves.
Coffee and milk.
Anti mess milkshakes, good idea!!
Bread with butter and grape jam, they bake the bread themselves, the smell is fantastic, when you walk into the shop!! If you were not hungry, you will become hungry instantly!!
Eggs and chicken livers, I am hungry again!!
We did not plan this day, but we had an amazing time chilling together, with good friends.
The photos were taken by me using my iPhone.
Hope you like it.
