#109 One Day, One Car

Today from France and especially from Normandy, not with the camembert but the brand named Alpine.

The car? The Alpine A106 / A110

The company Automobiles Alpine SAS was founded in 1955 in Dieppe by Jean Redele, who was selling Renault's cars at that time and was in love with rallies. He participated in his first one from Dieppe to Rouen. He used to drive the Renault 4L but he was dreaming about something better in lighter sports version...

The idea of A106 was born with the innovation of fiberglass body to make the car lighter.

There were several designs and models of A106 produced till 1961. Later models were built with Renault participation and were named Alpine-Renault.

Did you know?

Alpine ended the production of all A-model in 1995, in 2012 the re-production of sports model was announced and you will discover it in a bonus picture.
