Cats like to sleep where it's warm. In the bed, in the sink, in your lap or even on your laptop.
As long as they feel secure in closing their eyes, they just do it. Adult cats spend two thirds of every day in sleep. Some of them feel comfortable to sleep under the covers, while others feel better to sleep on the covers or on top of us. They love to cuddle with us when we are asleep, sleep on our chest, where we get stuck in one position for some hours :)
I always loved to sleep with two or three cats in the bed with me. Purrrr all night and have good company. I love to fall asleep listening to and feeling the vibrations of their purring all night. Some of them have excellent bed manners, stretching in all directions. They become active and really naughty, sleep all day and jump on top of my head when I decide to sleep.
Once I lived in a shared flat with 8 cats around. All of them were very friendly and wanted to join me in the bed. One Kitty made me really loose my mind and awakened me more than five times in one night. She was investigating and checking every inch in the room. I mean all night! She wasn't even tired. Thats how they are! They sleep during the day to save energy and hunt at night. But yes we adore them :)
