These shots are from the Cemetery/Mausoleum in Portland, Oregon. You can see the city, sweeping out on all sides from the hilltop where Mother Mary resides. These photos are unedited. They are also in large format, so I apologize for them not loading quickly. Please share and use as you like.
I wanted you to see the real dusk in Portland. Generally overcast, this was a sunnier day in which we actually had a sunset. It was a gift from God - truly gorgeous!
Please enjoy as you follow along this little trip with me...
A crow flew into my shot as I was playing with the sunset
The bird is perfectly framed by the setting sun, zoomed in
You can just begin to see the city lights twinkle
Keating holds their own mausoleum...a dark shadow against the fall of night
A shot of it in retreat, on the way back to the car
Rock wall flowers frame a large gap in the stone
The flowers and the stone just look so pretty together...
...A symbol of life conquering human strife
Graves grasp at the last of light below the Mother
Towers are in the near distance
Mary framed by the towers, atop Mt. Calvary
Fresh, red carnations and baby's breath adorn a grave
Sweeney's resting place
Here lies Bradley
The curious sideways cross...what does it mean? Anyone know?
At the end of nightfall, twilight ending
Moon sliver rests above the tip of a tall headstone
Evening finale
