A Dollar A Day charitable giving project - US $1500 target this month - how donation recipients are chosen

A Dollar A Day is up and running and the donations, in and out, are flowing well.

I have now distributed three daily donations.

The first 10 SBD went to @schoolforsdg4 in Bangladesh, the second 10 SBD went to @thegreens in Cameroon.

By day 3 the donation pot had grown to 15 SBD per day. The first 15 SBD donation went out yesterday to @rhondak's @tarc animal rescue centre in the USA.

My great thanks to @cecicastor, @deliberator, @eroche and @karenfoster who have joined @cryptocurator, @gmuxx, @goldendawne, @mother2chicks and @starkerz and myself as daily SBD donators.

Thanks also to @hopehuggs who is supporting the project by giving daily donations directly to people in Venezuela.

With the current levels of donations the A Dollar A Day project should be distributing the equivalent of US $1500 in the first month.

If anyone else would like to join in the project donating 1 SBD each day, even if only for a few days, it would be great to have you on board. Maybe we can get the monthly total up to US$2000 !

Selecting the recipients

There are some really great well established and deserving organisations that are obvious candidates for receiving donations from A Dollar A Day like @schoolforsdg4 and @tarc.

There are some new projects like @thegreens that I am just finding out more about.

I am also keen to work with projects like @dreamsoftheocean, @papilloncharity and @steemhelpinghand, as well as individuals doing good work like @malos10, @bigdude, @bobydimitrov and @intrepidsurfer.

But with the amount of money I hope A Dollar A Day will be able to distribute over the coming months I am still looking for new projects to add to the potential donation list.

I would like to mention some of the criteria I will be using to select where to send the daily donations.

1. Make sure your project is visible - post about it regularly

2. Show how you are doing good and improving lives - it should be about people, other creatures or the planet

3. Be as open and transparent as you can - give details of what money is needed for and how much things cost

4. Communicate, communicate, communicate - respond to comments, get on Discord, get on Ginabot, answer messages

5. Follow up - when you do a project post about how it went afterwards, what worked well, what didn't work quite so well and how you will do it better next time

If you would like to start a new project in your area but are not sure where to start have a look at some of the projects that people like @malos10 and @bigdude have been doing. You don't have to have a big setup to do good.

If you have an idea or plan and are not sure about it feel free to message me on Discord @pennsif#9921.

If you know of any other good causes on steemit that we might donate to please let me know.

And if you would like to join the project by donating 1 SBD each day, for even a few days, do let me know.
