Delivered Our Second Fundraiser Donation "Sleeping Bags".

Delivered thirteen (13) brand new sleeping Sleeping bags that we had in stock to be given/donated.

My husband ran a fundraiser here on Steemit for just over 4 months, these are the details:

13 brand new sleeping bags which cost $35.99 AUD each and were selling via an online classifieds site at $60 AUD, with a RRP of $79.99.

For the purpose of this fundraiser the listed price was $28ea as my husbands and my upvoting power are not high so the first $8 per sleeping bag ($104 total) was our first Upvote/donation.

Well, after some 4 months of allocating various posts towards this fundraiser the goal was achieved last week and I was responsible for delivery here in Australia because I am here and my husband is overseas.

Originally the sleeping bags were going to the womens shelter here in Sydney Australia. In the last 5 months since we started this fundraiser all their storage areas have been filled and they just didn't have any room for them. They have updated their website since then too.
So they gave me a contact to a similar charity in Brisbane, when I called around for pricing to get the 13 sleeping bags delivered to Brisbane it ended up costing more than the total value of sleeping bags, so I called them and said what the situation is and they said to me that I should donate them to a local charity.

So I started asking around trying to find a charity that helps mothers and children. I was given the contact for The Smith Family: Australian Children's Charity, https://www.thesmithfamily.com.au/

I explained to them about the fundraiser and who it was intended for originally and how they were not able to accept it at this time because of a lack of storage space now.
I also explained that this was a fundraising effort on Steemit.com and that bloggers all donated towards it over the past 4 months.

So once again I got the children into action and they packed all the bags up into big black bags, to make it easier to transport and carry. Then in the morning we delivered them in our MSP Steemit T-Shirts.

This is good time for all donations they do to families who celebrate Christmas by Christian Orthodox calendar, 2 weeks after 25 December.

After delivering them I explained about Steemit and how bloggers with their upvotes ("Likes") made this donation possible.

I managed to get one group photo in during all the rush, because my parking space was limited to a maximum of one hour,

I asked the staff there to explain to my children what they do, who they help and my children learned a big lesson.

"Not everyone is as lucky as us, many children and mothers are not able to have everything they need and people who help with donations help organizations like theirs help the mothers and their children who need it..." (I will add.... "with an emphasis on education for the children").

My daughters understood, the little one didn't, but he felt important as he carried the bags and helped deliver them. The people there had great big smiles on their faces when they saw him carrying a package all "importantly".

There is not much more that I can say except for

THANK YOU EVERYONE,
