Chess Blitz of the Day - MAGNUS CARLSEN VS SERGEY KARJAKIN.

Chess Blitz of the Day

Tournament = NORWAY CHESS 2014

Magnus Carlsen

The top of the world chess is a cold and inhospitable place. Now it is also crowded. There is a lack of oxygen and there are plenty of enemies, with half a dozen grand masters crowded in a dotted tile, something unusual in what we have been doing for the last decade. To make matters worse, Magnus Carlsen still has a hard time playing in his land, let's not be a prophet. It is almost fortunate that FIDE and the Norwegian Government have truncated their desire to defend the title at home.

Last year, number one was able to retaliate with their first win in the Altibox Norway Chess, but in the last edition, which ended on Saturday, their demons have reappeared. In the strongest tournament in history, at least according to the Elo of the participants, Anand, Karjakin and Carlsen himself, protagonists of the last World Cup finals, took the last positions.

Sergey Karjakin

The Russian is a cold, mature player, accurate in defense, with a classical formation and a high conception of the psychological elements of competition. It is very difficult to overcome. From the point of view of the style of play, Karjakin can remind us to Carlsen but without the same precision of the Norwegian boy. Avoid hyper-aggressive positions and, instead, choose to beat your opponents in the middle game. It has an excellent preparation, which it uses to prevail in the openings and to gain advantage from the beginning. It is ingenious, resilient and does not evade pulling "inventive" to propose creative solutions.
