Paul McCartney said had a dream, in 1968, about his mother, Mary, during sessions for The Beatles White Album. 1968. According to McCartney, Mother Mary is not the biblical Mary. Some Christians have appropriated McCartney's Mother Mary as the Virgin Mary. McCartney mother died of cancer when he was fourteen. She inspired the Mother Mary libretto.
