Hello friends. Today is another day to share a Bible verse. It's been long I did this due to one reason or the other. Today we will be sharing another verse from the book of 1Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 14:26

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

The Purpose Of Spiritual Gift

The primary purpose of all spiritual gifts is to strengthen the church and individual Christians. "Strengthening" means to promote spiritual life, maturity and godly character in Christ's followers. The Holy Spirit accomplishes this through the various spiritual gifts as He continually works to spiritually transform individuals in the church. The goal is that Christians become more like Christ and not be conformed to the ungodly patterns of the world.

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. - Romans 12:2-8

Through the work of the Holy Spirit in individual Christians and in the church as a whole, God's people will comtinue to grow in love for God, concern for others, purity of heart, a good conscience, a sincere faith and a readiness to serve His purposes (Ro 8:13; 14:1-4, 26; Gal 5:16-26).
