The Certainty Of God's Promise

We live in a time of so many failed promises. Countries sign essential arrangements and after that breaks them freely. What's more, many couples indicate little respect for their wedding promises. In this sort of society, we who are God's kin ought to be known for staying faithful to our obligations.

God already laid a perfect example on how promises should be kept and fulfilled. According to the scripture, God promised Abraham and He definitely fulfilled all He had promised. This same promises of long-life, prosperity, success, good-luck and many more which He gave to Abraham has not yet ended because the seeds of Abraham are also to benefit from it.

We definitely deserved a portion of this promise because we are Abraham's seeds. (Galatians 3:28-29) says " There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.(29) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

However, as we have believed in God for the manifestation of His promise over us, we also needed to be honest in fulfilling our vows both before God and men. We serve a just and honest God, it is impossible for God to lie, which is main reason He took an oath to assure Abraham of His promise. According to (Hebrew 6:13-18) " When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, (14) saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” (15) And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

(16) People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. (17) Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. (18) God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged."

We can see from the above verses that it is impossible for God to lie, and He perfectly fulfilled the promise He gave to Abraham. This is same attitude God want from us, we should try to be truthful and ensure we fulfill all our promise to men and God. And by doing this, God in Heaven will be pleased with us.

May the grace of God be with you all. Amen...
