Hello there! Here's my entry for the weekly contest hosted by @josejirafa, I hope my entry is not too late. If you are interested with this contest, please click the link here. I usually used polymer clay for this contest, but at this time, I want to challenge myself with this modeling clay that I bought. These items are cheaper than the other modeling clay.
This week's theme is "A Childhood Toy ". When I was a child, my mom bought me a pack of small fruits made of plastic, until now I still have it! Yes, my mom kept it in our storage box! In Philippines, we have lots of traditional game cause technology was not yet engaged for the kids in that time. Then we used to play with my cousins with "jackstone", made with rubber ball and small plastic stars or any shape with different colors. I remember I always defeated by my cousin with this game. lol! Another one was an elastic rubber bond, then we used to make braided, then played a "chinese garter", and "dampa" in bisaya dialect, and sometimes we used it for hunting lizards lol! I also had a small blocks with different shapes made with plastic.
To make this forms, I only used the following:
Materials:
Modeling clay (red,yellow,blue,green and black)
The process:
For Fruits
banana - take your yellow clay, roll it over in the surface and form a long cylinder and cut into pieces to form a banana, and used a brown clay.
watermelon - take your red clay and form a triangle, add a green clay at the lower part and for the seeds take a black clay , roll it over into a very thin strings and cut into pieces to form a seeds.
Mango (green and yellow) - Take your yellow, green and brown clay. Form a round then add the stem in each mango.
Grapes - Take your green and yellow clay. Form it into a teardrops or round, then stick together and make a small stem using brown clay.
For Jackstone
- rubber ball - combine all the color except the black clay. Form a round then for the small circle, take a yellow, red, blue and green then form a round shape.
Rubber bond
- Take your yellow, blue, green and red clay. Roll it over in the surface and form a string then cut into pieces to connect each other randomly like a braided style.
Blocks
- Take your different clay except the black one, then form a shape of triangle, circle, rectangle and square.
All the forms are done! Quick and easy. Hope you like it.
