Recently, there were many posts about kids but I didn't post anything about my kids for awhile. After reading all the kids, I decided to write a post about my daughters. Since I've shared a lot about their study, I would like to talk about what they play at their spare time.
Aikatsu!
Their most favorite games now are アイカツ! Aikatsu! PriPara "a.k.a.
They are basically music rhythm games that make use of the cards to dress up the in game characters. Based on results of the games, players can use the point they get in game to exchange for new facial or body characteristics or to attract more fans. However, the girls like the correctable part of the card games, they don't care too much about the game play of them. Most of the time when I brought them to play these card games, they ended up checking and exchanging cards with other girls.
Both games make use of the barcodes on cards to distinguish and enter different clothes or jewelries, so that the in game characters will change accordingly.
The games came from Japan and the girls will play them in Japan too. That's why they also have another collection of Japan version cards. Too bad that they are not interchangeable, so that they have to maintain both Japanese and Hong Kong version set of cards.
Difference between Hong Kong and Japan version of cards should only be the codes stored, but visually you can only distinguish them by spotting the small words under the barcards. Hong Kong version cards have those small words.
Finally I would like to talk about how do you get those cards in Hong Kong and Japan. In Hong Kong, you can only get the cards by purchase of card packs. In Japan, most common way is to get the cards by playing the games. In Japan, you have to pay ¥100 to play one game, after each game, the machine will give out one card. Some of the cards are printed directly by the machines, that's why they can provide some special cards there, like cards with palyers' faces, or special cards after they complete specials stages. Due to high labour costs in Hong Kong, it is too expensive too maintain those machines in Hong Kong, that's why game machines in Hong Kong don't give cards.
There are always video games, just that recently game manufacturers like to products this kind of card games becuase they have better profit margins. Anyway, as long as they are good enough to act my daughters' entertainments for their spare time, I am fine with any arrangement.
