很多個星期前已經想參加@ace108舉辦的 #beautifulsunday,但每次都趕不上。這個星期出外後早點回家,馬上寫帖子。
I've been meaning to write a #beautifulsunday post which is a challenge organised by @ace108 for many weeks. This week I have finally managed to finish my post on time.
這個週末我回我的第三個家~香港。星期日 一定是跟家人一起去飲茶。 我們去了在灣仔的浙江軒,地方很棒,連續拿了米芝蓮一粒星三年。
This week, I am in Hong Kong for a long weekend, and today went to have dim sum lunch with my family. We went to this restaurant called Zhejiang Heen at Wan Chai, it has had 1 Michelin star for three years.
聽店名就知這裡是吃浙江菜,跟平常大家比較熟悉的廣東點心有點不一樣。
The food here is based on Zhejiang cuisine which is slightly different from the normal Cantonese dim sums you may be used to.
這是燻蛋,很香。做燻蛋最難是要燻得夠香,但蛋黃要恰到好處有糖心,不能整顆熟透。這個做得很好。
This is smoked egg, the most difficult part is to ensure the egg is smoked well enough but the center is still slightly runny. This one is smoked just right.
烤夫是素食,我只懂食不懂怎樣做。這烤夫鬆軟有口感,連汁一起吃很香。
This is a vegetarian dish called Kao Fu, not sure how its made but it has a nice spongey texture to soak up the tasty gravy.
我最喜歡是這道黃金蝦球。蝦的外面沾上鹹蛋黃醬,口感香脆,吃到停不了。
My favourite is golden prawns, succulent fried prawns coated with salty duck egg yolk. I nearly wanted to polish off the entire dish.
米鍋巴卷裡面有雞丁和松子。手拿著淡淡的米酒巴卷配上香口的雞肉,感覺好像吃熱鹹冰其淋,很妙。
Rice guo ba cones with chicken and pine nut filling was very tasty. The balance of the crispy bland cone and the crunchiness of the tasty chicken and pine nuts filling was just right.
主菜是樟茶鴨,有一點點 (只是一點點而已)乾,但完全沒影響味道。
The main dish was duck smoked with tea using camphor tree wood giving it a lovely aroma. It was a tad too dry, but that didn't distort the flavour.
午餐後我走路到香港島週末的心臟地區~銅鑼灣。可能離開了香港太久, 每次回去來都會發現一些新事物,例如這一棟新的大樓。
After lunch, I walked over to Causeway Bay, the heart of Hong Kong island on the weekend. Having been away from Hong Kong for some time, I always see something different each time I return. Sometimes it's a new building like this one.
又或者是著名購物中心時代廣場外的黃色斑馬線。以前總是在這裏跟其他行人匆匆忙忙地過馬路,從來沒留意這些小細節。原來這班馬線是弧形很有趣。
And sometimes it's this zebra crossing outside Times Square, one of the main shopping malls in Hong Kong. This is junction is always busy, and maybe in the past I was too busy rushing around like everyone else, and never noticed these nuances. The bendy yellow zebra crossing is like a big smiley on the road.
我每次回香港都會到這家老字號涼茶店恭和堂。它的龜苓膏用龜板及中藥鍊製,有濃厚的甘苦味。有些人會加糖漿一起吃,但我就是喜歡他那清甘的味道。別處吃的總是不一樣。
My final stop in Causeway Bay this shop that has been around for I don't know how many years. Their most famous product is this jelly dessert. The main ingredient is turtle shell and various Chinese medicine thus is quite bitter. Some people add syryp to the jelly, but I like to have it straight. The same type of jelly just doesn't taste the same elsewhere.
