Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of going to the Decorative Antiques & Textile Fair with a good friend. Actually, the recently joined talented steemian, @airlea. The fair turned out to be amazing. Very well organised and with so many beautiful things to see and do. Literally anything you can think of when it comes to decorative imagination!
The Decorative Antiques & Textile Fair is a family-owned fair that was established in 1985. They offer a fabulous variety of antique craftsmanship and 20th century decor to the discerning interior designer and private buyer. Today, this fair is held three times a year in London's Battersea Park.
Whilst there, I came across some very impressive selections of stylish antique furniture including the Art Deco design and lavishing lighting from chandeliers to modernist wall lights. In addition, there were some beautiful classical looking mirrors and a few rare collectibles like ornaments and vintage toys.
I was very interested by the intriguing comparative mix of the "old and new". Many of the displays were quite quirky but totally worked! Numerous stalls displayed their stock in a room-set fashion, providing ideas and inspiration for the visiting patrons so they can easily imagine these items being showcased in their own homes!
Below are some of the highlights of my visit to share with my steemian friends:
I also happened to find some Chinese elements here at the show too.
There are two floors making up of entire venue. The second floor presented a large range of luxurious rugs and textiles, including a lovely café for visitors to take a rest from all their antique shopping, lol.
I was quite surprised to see a lot of young people in attendance at the show too, unlike a more "traditional" stereotype that the young aren't interested in antiques. Now I can say they certainly seem to be,lol!
I was thrilled to be there and had a fantastic day out! Thank you for sharing in my experiences here at the Decorative Antiques & Textile Fair.
