Previously in the last story ( @scarcity/tokyo-jottings-views-from-skytree-and-tokyo-tower ),
I wrote about some casual sights from the two sightseeing towers in downtown Tokyo. In my earlier trip to Tokyo I did also venture into the suburbs where a different glimpse of the city awaits.
Setting off in early Sunday morning. A shot taken at a platform of Yokohama station.
Kamakura station.
An unusually crowded railroad crossing. Still a lovely sight.
Travelling on Enoshima Electric Railway 江ノ島電鉄 (Often abbrieviated as ‘Enoden’ 江ノ電). Tons of people on Sunday as lots of local Japanese also spend their weekend with their family here.
Enoshima station.
Just outside the station there are a few metallic bird statues. Some nice pieces of art they have got there.
On my way to the Enoshima island.
Crowded marketplace right when I stepped onto the island.
Bought a croquette, nice and hot
Heading towards Enoshima Shrine.
Nearly the time of Tanabata Matsuri 七夕祭. Japanese have a custom of writing wishes as a way of celebrating. I happened to see a batch of local students at the shrine as well.
