💛 Steemians

For English Readers

Please bear with me as this is a Chinese Essay Writing Competition and it’s not an easy task to interpret and express every little nuance of what i’m trying to say in different language. But I will do my best for you to understand in a big picture of what i’m writing about.

For this week Chinese Essay Writing Competition, the title it’s just a single word “Fall”. Thank you @jubi for hosting this competition, this writing not only allow us to be more creative, but it can also enhance our writing stills. For more info, please visit this page.

When I saw this title, the first thing came into my mind was the season of Fall / Autumn. Unfortunately, Malaysia is a tropical country, and we don’t have 4 season, therefore we’ll never get to experience the beautiful leaves 🍁 falling moment. Even so, the big festival in the fall, such as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is one of the traditional festivals that our Chinese will celebrate.

During my childhood school time, I am most impressed by the ancient Chinese poetry is Li Bai's "Missing in a Quiet Night". This poem describes during one autumn night, the poet in the house looking up at the moon feeling deeply, it’s also expressed the wanderers of their homesickness. (Mid-Autumn Festival it’s around the corner, kindly remind those people who work afar from home, it’s time to go back and visit their parents.)

🍁 The colour of “Autumn”🍁

Autumn has arrived! (🤔 sounded familiar) In the four seasons country, everywhere you can see the scene of falling leaves (it suddenly reminded me of this classic jazz standard).

Withered leaves will be covered everywhere, although the feeling is a little desolate, but the scenery is very charming. In the mall, you can see all the decorations are mainly orange and yellow, like the color of the fall. In addition, the Mid-Autumn Festival decoration must not be separated from the lanterns🏮, especially colorful lanterns hanging on the wall, it just made the whole atmosphere feeling’s right!

Mid-Autumn Festival for the annual lunar calendar fall on the August 15, it’s usually around September to early October on the standard calender. Mid-Autumn Festival has a long history, is the traditional Chinese cultural festivals, it means pray for a family reunion. Where every household will celebrate and it’s the best time together. There’s a saying the moon round reunion well!

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival is scheduled on 4th of October, since last week, many malls and shops have begun to decorate and selling Mid-Autumn gifts, such as moon cakes, dried meat, lanterns and so on. The atmosphere is particularly good!

Must do things during Mid-Autumn Festival~

Enjoy watching the bright and round moon 🌕

Mid-Autumn Moon is particularly round, the elders at home like to sit outside, while eating moon cake, have a cup of chinese tea, chit chatting, and enjoy the beautiful fullmoon.

Eating Mooncake

We have a wide variety of moon cakes here, there are baked, icy skin, jelly and ice cream. In addition of the flavored, from the traditional taste of emerald (Pandan), lotus, egg yolk, nuts, bean paste, there are also tiramisu, black sesame seeds, green tea, chocolate etc, all are very innovative new tastes. These beautiful moon cakes can also be used as a best gift 🎁 to friends and families! I still remembered my childhood memories, we like to eat moon cake while my grandmother will tell us about a fairy tales story of the Chang’Er to the moon.

This is one of the Malaysian’s favorite mooncake, “Musang King Durian”.

Delicious Dried Meat

Fragrant Grilled Dried Meat is also one of our favorite food in the Mid-Autumn Festival. When it serves with beer, it taste perfectly awesome! 👍

Japanese Peach Fruit Jelly 🍑

Soft and sweet peach, is a very top notch dessert!

Childhood memories-Piggy’s Cookies 🐷

In this decades, we still get to see this Piggy’s Cookies in the pig cage packaging, it’s really moving. 😇

The colorful lanterns 🏮

Without lanterns without the good ambience! Lanterns light up our house, it also allows us to feel the traditional festivals of the cultural atmosphere. When we were young, we like to go parade with the lanterns and show off our own DIY handmade lanterns.
