Coffee's of the World Colombian Café Granja La Esperanza Roasted by me @c0ff33a ☕️

Finally another new coffee to share with you, this Colombian I am sure @felobtc and @ecoinstant will appreciate the most. You can tell this is a special coffee - because it comes not in a 60kg hessian sack like the averages joes - this is in a 12kg vacuum sealed Grain Pro bag to fully retain the flavour.

It's like a solid coffee brick, until you slice it open and hear the hiss. You get a little bit of an earthy smell from green coffee - but mostly it is quite neutral when compared to the many aromas it gives off once you roast it.

The beans are a mixture of colours in this coffee - very unusual but they will soon all be the same shade of brown once I roast them.

I know @steemflow keeps asking how the roaster works, well this should give you a good idea.

The great coffee beans go into the silver hopper at the top of the roaster, when the temperature is correct in the drum (I drop the coffee in at 215 degrees Celsius) I activate a lever to let the green coffee fall into the drum to cook.

They they go, falling into the spinning drum. The roaster has a big drum inside that spins constantly - the keeps the coffee moving so it cooks evenly and does not burn on one side.

Watching the green beans turning in the drum we can see the colour change from light

To dark brown in around 12 minutes, and then once we have the perfect colour it's time to release the coffee to cool it

The mixer stirs the coffee while a big fan inside the roaster sucks cooling air over the coffee to cool it.

That's a lovely looking roast, let's take a closer look

Lovely freshly roasted coffee, let's learn a little more about where it grows

And now we now a little more about it, let's try tasting some.

Measure the beans inside the aeropress.

And then tip them into the coffee grinder, and grind them straight back into the aeropress.

Getting ready to take the plunge

And here we have another lovely cup of coffee, for the tastes we can expect Prune fruit juice, sweet cloves and vanilla tobacco flavour combined with Citric fruit acidity, and creamy mouthfeel.

And it's wonderful, of course - definitely getting the cloves and vanilla from this cup. Colombian coffee, this one is a little bit special but I also sell a large amount of the standard Excelso Colombian.
