This is my second time entering into the Collaborative Art Journey put together by @everlove. My first experience was a success and I found to be a great opportunity for artists to get together and see each other’s work. Not only that, but I’m a believer that the more we stretch ourselves creatively, trying things we normally would not, we begin to see other problems in a new way.
Here is the base offered for the collaborative piece:
@everlove’s offering, “Tangled Webs We Weave” seemed to me to be a sort of Rorschach image, where each artist will see something different—popping out to them uniquely within this same black and white abstraction. For me, I immediately saw a butterfly image and a soft cocoon of sorts with an umbilical cord connecting the two. The dots above formed a sort of starry night backdrop.
I found some imagery to bring it to life and massaged it all together in Photoshop. I think if you study the artwork a bit you’ll understand the concept of the bigger butterfly giving birth to new ideas, symbolized in the cluster of little butterflies within the womb-like cocoon.
I hope you take the time to check out all of the other artists in collaborative art journey #22, the diversity and creativity is once again remarkable.
