Lying just below the surface,
Suspended murkiest domain.
Alone on the edge of existence,
A lone decision remains.
Whether to succumb to the pull of the depths,
Or to fight which does circum.
At the edges of both worlds,
The light that shines within does shine upon.
This is my first contribution to @everlove's latest Collaborative Art Project.
I don't usually work with paint, preferring the control of a pen or pencil.
But this project demanded colour so I have utilised water colour paints as a wash effect over a very rough sketch.
Below is the original sketch in pencil.
When I first looked at the latest offering, before I even noticed the title, I thought it looked like a sliver of a being was lying just beneath the surface of a murky pond, surrounded by reeds and algae.
So that's what I went with.
I haven't utilised the original, but rather used it as inspiration. The description / verse, honestly just spewed forth when I attempted to describe what I had hoped to show in my picture.
I do look forward to doing a second piece.
When I can get my printer to work I hope to do something with the original which I have included below, along with the link to the group project.
