One thing most young boaters and sailors learn early on is Red, Right, Returning
For those of us in the US, Markers for channels and safe boating lanes are a mix of Green and Red markers with some white, yellow and black as well.
The phrase Red, Right, Returning means, when returning to port from at sea, keep the Red Markers on your right (starboard) side. This channel marker is a good example.
