The Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
This shot is is from the Boardwalk on the Beach looking into Silver Sand State park, not the greatest of shots but it does lead me into a train of thought about the saying “The Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence”
Now for some that may feel a true statement for others they may feel the opposite, of course I am talking about life in general and our observations, not so much on the quality of your neighbours grass.
I think that it really comes down to a matter of perspective and how you choose to view your current feelings on how your are doing
You can choose to compare yourself with those who are seemingly better off , have that fancy car, the big house, and going back to the grass analogy the huge gardens well maintained by an expensive landscaping company.
But are they really any happier than you, often it seems to me material wealth and self wealth seldom come together, the old saying "the more you have the more you want" point of view.
Some of the happiest people I know are those what we may call average Joe’s or Joan’s not rich but have enough to live some what comfortably, they do not look at what the rich have and envy them, but appreciate what they have compared to those struggling, and are willing to give what they can whether it is there time, their expertise or financially to help others.
As Winston Churchill said “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
I have found that from a young age I have been lucky enough to have a pretty positive attitude, and I think that in. Part its because I focus on making the most with what I have, I do not envy those with more than me, but I do feel for those who are struggling for whatever reason and help where I can and that helps me to be me, a generally happy and positive person
OK this is another one of my more wordy post, can I ask a question for those who follow me and read my post.
Do you prefer post like this where I give my thoughts on something or do you prefer my posts with just a short description of the photo
Honest feedback would be appreciated and will not hurt my feelings :)
