Comic of the Day : Batman - Gates of Gotham

Hi dear Steemillionaires! This is my comic rewiev content series. So I will going to talk about my favorite comics that I particularly liked. Today we will talk about Batman - Gates of Gotham! Gotham is, in my opinion, the most attractive and beautiful fictional city created in the comic book world. The city receives an endless cycle of crime-justice, good-bad, right-wrong conflicts that are trapped in it. And this cycle is not only influencing the events, but also influencing the birth of the characters. So if you ready, let's talk about Gotham and his dark history!

Synopsis

In a flashback to 1881, Nicholas Gate is commissioned to design three bridges by Alan Wayne, Edward Elliott and Theodore Cobblepot. In the present day, Batman is tracking down a shipment of explosives linked to the Penguin. There are three massive explosions that destroy the three bridges and hundreds of lives are lost; Commissioner Gordon receives a note that says "the families will fall by the gates of Gotham." Batman meets with Blackbat, Red Robin and Robin at the Bat-Bunker to deal with the crisis. Hush is visited in Arkham Asylum by a super-villain named the Architect who asks if he can come out to play.[1]

Which parts are good?

  • Although it is processed in a very ordinary way, it is really exciting to see Gotham's origins. But frankly I would like to see a story with less cliché and more detail about the city's past. As a result we have an average comic book. That's why flashback scenes can be said to be beautiful.

  • It was time-lined with drawings, and it was so beautiful. Instead of classical sequential stages, the intricate harmonic scene drawings went very well for me. I seemed to be watching a scene with a high tempo from a movie.

  • Seeing the Bat Family and seeing the relationships between them is a plus.

  • Though not much to do with the main story, it was a pleasure to see Nightrunner's origin. It is quite nice to be able to tell about political and socio-cultural conflicts and ethnic problems in Paris.

Which parts are bad?

  • It was boring to avoid unnecessary detail drawings in the action scenes. In other words, a huge page reservation for a scene that could be transferred in 2-3 panels didn't contribute to the story flow.

  • Seeing Dick Grayson as Batman, not Bruce Wayne, unfortunately limited the story. It's a bit strange and unfortunate that Bruce Wayne is not in a story about family heritage.

  • Dick Grayson's Batman performance was inadequate. We have an amateur detective. He did not have any significant success except for his nice supervision of his team.

  • The end of the story came so fast. The detective parts could be better handled. Or more realistic. In this regard, the story would have more solid foundations and consequences.

Trivia For You

  • Nightrunner (Bilal Asselah) first appeared in the 12th of Detective Comics Annual.

  • In Batman's early stories Batman's base was considered New York. "Gotham" was first used in Batman #4.
