Superman stories are usually accurate. He reminds people of hope and justice in every circumstance. Superman's divine stance reminded me of human desire for a supreme creature and with his helping hand.
Clark Kent is an identity used to cover up the Superman identity. It is a person who reveals the humanity that is somewhat distant from Superman's divinity, which facilitates Superman's work. But Kal-El is forgotten. An alien living among billions of people. Someone who looks like us, but who is not one of us and who can never be...
Superman-American Alien, written by Max Landis, tells the story of Kal-El's life till the day Superman is formed. Contrary to old stories, we saw; his childhood, his adolescence, identity crisis, moments of being othered, moments of his adoption. We see how he turn Superman. Yes, Clark is man, Superman is a god, our hero, our idol. Bu Kal-El, he just a lost kid. He isn't a protector yet, he want protect from his power. He looking an idol like all of us.
I think new DC movies didn't understand that. Yes I like Henry's Superman. Henry look like real Kriptonian. But that is not real Superman. Someone from WB should be read Superman-American Alien comic book. Then they will see who is Superman and who should be.
